AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTIONS 17-18-1 THROUGH 17-18-47, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH CONSTITUTE THE MISSISSIPPI HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY SITING ACT OF 1990, AND WHICH CREATE THE HAZARDOUS WASTE FACILITY SITING AUTHORITY WITH THE DUTY OF DESIGNATING A SITE FOR A STATE COMMERCIAL HAZARDOUS WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Sections 17-18-1, 17-18-3, 17-18-5, 17-18-7, 17-18-9, 17-18-11, 17-18-13, 17-18-15, 17-18-17, 17-18-19, 17-18-21, 17-18-23, 17-18-25, 17-18-27, 17-18-29, 17-18-31, 17-18-33, 17-18-35, 17-18-37, 17-18-39, 17-18-41, 17-18-43, 17-18-45 and 17-18-47, Mississippi Code of 1972, constituting the Mississippi Hazardous Waste Facility Siting Act of 1990, which creates the Hazardous Waste Facility Siting Authority with the duty of designating a site for a state commercial hazardous waste management facility and establishes a special fund to be maintained in part by user fees, franchise fees and other charges connected to the operation of the state commercial hazardous waste management facility, are repealed.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1999.
